17 July 2007 - John Edwards and the Poverty Issue

John Edwards, who is trailing Clinton and Barack Obama in most polls, has tried to make poverty a signature campaign issue. He's currently in the middle of a three-day, multistate tour of impoverished communities.

John, let me give you some advice as a political observer of some 35-years. It isn't working. As a "bottom-feeder" lawyer with a $1200 haircut and a mansion that even makes the Clintons look shabby, I just don't see anyway that your appeal to work the poverty issue is going to take you anywhere except back to being a bottom-feeder.

Let it go John. Let it go.

As they say, "Common sense is not so common anymore."

Until next time.
