PBO Dumps The General

From the Back of Eddy Creek Bay - Tranquilla 2 --- Some of you will be shocked by this but I agree with the President's decision to accept the resignation of the General. Frankly, I would have fired him.

"Gen. Stanley McChrystal, under fire for comments made in a Rolling Stone profile, has resigned as the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan. Gen. David Petraeus, presently head of the U.S. Central Command, which oversees the operation in Afghanistan, has been nominated to take over the position but must first face Senate confirmation hearings."

First, like him or not the President is the Commander in Chief. If you have ever been in or associated with the military you know there is a chain of command. The General knows this as does his staff. You always show respect for your command - if you can't you keep your mouth shut when dealing with the press and deal with these issues behind closed doors or you find another job.

Second, although I think this is a strategic mistake in the "War of Terror" excuse me "An Overseas Engagement", because for this action you need a General who has earned his stars in the covert world, you also need a unified front of respect from top down.

Third, any aide-de-camp that was dumb enough to allow Rolling Stone near his commander should have been fired and rightly was. That also goes for all his staff who had diarrhea of the mouth. However, any General that does not have enough media savvy to understand that a writer for RS would not be out to do him and his command in is naive at best.

General we thank you for your service. You are a decent and honorable man that allowed your staff to screw things up. Your staff is under your command and they are your responsibility. Go now knowing that many of us still believe you to be a man of honor and integrity. In civilian life coming out fighting for us all.

Do I think PBO really knows what he is doing as CIC? Well, let's see how he handles this latest crisis. Harry Truman he is not - CIC he still is.

WW II Battleship sailor tells Obama to shape up or ship out !

From Tybee Island, Ga. --- I could not have said this better.

WW II Battleship sailor tells Obama to shape up or ship out !

This venerable and much honored WW II vet is well known in Hawaii

for his seventy-plus years of service to patriotic organizations and causes

all over the country. A humble man without a political bone in his body,

he has never spoken out before about a government official, until now.

He dictated this letter to a friend, signed it and mailed it to the president.

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor, allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

I can't figure out what country you are the president of.

You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:

" We're no longer a Christian nation"

" America is arrogant" - (Your wife even

announced to the world,"America is mean-

spirited. " Please tell her to try preaching

that nonsense to 23 generations of our

war dead buried all over the globe who

died for no other reason than to free a

whole lot of strangers from tyranny and

hopelessness.)

I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don't think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said," America hasn't lived up to her ideals."

Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue. You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don't want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts, who was putting up a fight? You don't mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don't want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.

You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.

And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle.

Sincerely,

Harold B. Estes

Does President Barrack Hussein Obama Lie? You Read and Decide.

Friday, September 18, 2009

Does He Lie?

by Charles Krauthammer

You lie? No. Barack Obama doesn't lie. He's too subtle for that. He ... well, you judge.

Herewith three examples within a single speech -- the now-famous Obama-Wilson "you lie" address to Congress on health care -- of Obama's relationship with truth.

(1) "I will not sign (a plan)," he solemnly pledged, "if it adds one dime to the deficit, now or in the future. Period."

Wonderful. The president seems serious, veto-ready, determined to hold the line. Until, notes Harvard economist Greg Mankiw, you get to Obama's very next sentence: "And to prove that I'm serious, there will be a provision in this plan that requires us to come forward with more spending cuts if the savings we promised don't materialize."

This apparent strengthening of the pledge brilliantly and deceptively undermines it. What Obama suggests is that his plan will require mandatory spending cuts if the current rosy projections prove false. But there's absolutely nothing automatic about such cuts. Every Congress is sovereign. Nothing enacted today will force a future Congress or a future president to make any cuts in any spending, mandatory or not.

Just look at the supposedly automatic Medicare cuts contained in the Sustainable Growth Rate formula enacted to constrain out-of-control Medicare spending. Every year since 2003, Congress has waived the cuts.

Mankiw puts the Obama bait-and-switch in plain language. "Translation: I promise to fix the problem. And if I do not fix the problem now, I will fix it later, or some future president will, after I am long gone. I promise he will. Absolutely, positively, I am committed to that future president fixing the problem. You can count on it. Would I lie to you?"

(2) And then there's the famous contretemps about health insurance for illegal immigrants. Obama said they would not be insured. Well, all four committee-passed bills in Congress allow illegal immigrants to take part in the proposed Health Insurance Exchange.

But more importantly, the problem is that laws are not self-enforcing. If they were, we'd have no illegal immigrants because, as I understand it, it's illegal to enter the United States illegally. We have laws against burglary, too. But we also provide for cops and jails on the assumption that most burglars don't voluntarily turn themselves in.

When Republicans proposed requiring proof of citizenship, the Democrats twice voted that down in committee. Indeed, after Rep. Joe Wilson's "You lie!" shout-out, the Senate Finance Committee revisited the language of its bill to prevent illegal immigrants from getting any federal benefits. Why would the Finance Committee fix a nonexistent problem?

(3) Obama said he would largely solve the insoluble cost problem of Obamacare by eliminating "hundreds of billions of dollars in waste and fraud" from Medicare.

That's not a lie. That's not even deception. That's just an insult to our intelligence. Waste, fraud and abuse -- Meg Greenfield once called this phrase "the dread big three" -- as the all-purpose piggy bank for budget savings has been a joke since Jimmy Carter first used it in 1977.

Moreover, if half a trillion is waiting to be squeezed painlessly out of Medicare, why wait for health care reform? If, as Obama repeatedly insists, Medicare overspending is breaking the budget, why hasn't he gotten started on the painless billions in "waste and fraud" savings?

Obama doesn't lie. He merely elides, gliding from one dubious assertion to another. This has been the story throughout his whole health care crusade. Its original premise was that our current financial crisis was rooted in neglect of three things -- energy, education and health care. That transparent attempt to exploit Emanuel's Law -- a crisis is a terrible thing to waste -- failed for health care because no one is stupid enough to believe that the 2008 financial collapse was caused by a lack of universal health care.

So on to the next gambit: selling health care reform as a cure for the deficit. When that was exploded by the Congressional Budget Office's demonstration of staggering Obamacare deficits, Obama tried a new tack: selling his plan as revenue-neutral insurance reform -- until the revenue neutrality is exposed as phony future cuts and chimerical waste and fraud.

Obama doesn't lie. He implies, he misdirects, he misleads -- so fluidly and incessantly that he risks transmuting eloquence into mere slickness.

Slickness wasn't fatal to "Slick Willie" Clinton because he possessed a winning, near irresistible charm. Obama's persona is more cool, distant, imperial. The charming scoundrel can get away with endless deception; the righteous redeemer cannot.

"History Unfolding" by "TPS" - Author Yet Known

From Chateau Amoire at Tybee Island --- Snopes.com says that David Kaiser nor Dr. Timothy Wood wrote this article. As best as they can tell it was written in response to a post on Pat Dollard's blog by "TPS" in November 2008.

I would like to meet the person that did write this.

Simper Fi,
Dr. Darryl

"My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it." President Barack Hussein Obama

History Unfolding

I am a student of history. Professionally, I have written 15 books on history that have been published in six languages, and I have studied history all my life. I have come to think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is simply a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes these exist, but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus.

Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it.. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about ten to fifteen years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people we know they can never pay back? Why?

We learned just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has "loaned" two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is three times the $700 billion we all argued about so strenuously just this past September. Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of "we the people," who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy. Why?
We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it simply wants marriage to remain defined as between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?) We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, social security is nearly bankrupt, as is medicare and our entire government. Our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and I know precisely what I am talking about) - the list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth.. It is potentially 1929 x ten... And we are at war with an enemy we cannot even name for fear of offending people of the same religion, who, in turn, cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

And finally, we have elected a man that no one really knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla , Alaska . All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh, of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe is more important.)

Mr. Obama's winning platform can be boiled down to one word: Change. Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.

This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning..

As a serious student of history, I thought I would never come to experience what the ordinary, moral German must have felt in the mid-1930s. In those times, the "savior" was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they should have known was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory. Conservative "losers" read it right now.

And there were the promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and frowned and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his "brown shirts" would bully and beat them into submission. Which they did - regularly. And then, he was duly elected to office , while a full-throttled economic crisis bloomed at hand - the Great Depression. Slowly, but surely he seized the controls of government power, person by person, department by department, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The children of German citizens were at first, encouraged to join a Youth Movement in his name where they were taught exactly what to think. Later, they were required to do so. No Jews of course.

How did he get people on his side? He did it by promising jobs to the jobless, money to the money-less, and rewards for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe , and across the world. He did it with a compliant media - did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and ..... . .. change. And the people surely got what they voted for.

If you think I am exaggerating, look it up. It's all there in the history books.

So read your history books. Many people of conscience objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and ridiculed. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though. And the world came to regret that he was not listened to.

Do not forget that Germany was the most educated, the most cultured country in Europe . It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And yet, in less than six years (a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency) it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors .... all with the best of intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved with them.

As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong by closing my eyes, having another latte, and ignoring what is transpiring around me..

I choose to believe the evidence. No doubt some people will scoff at me, others laugh, or think I am foolish, naive, or both. To some degree, perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe-and why I believe it.

I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am. Perhaps the only hope is our vote in the next elections.

Let's Get Back to Business Congress!

From Tranquilla II on The Back of Eddy Creek on Lake Barkley ---

Congressman Joe Wilson apologized personally to President Barrack Obama through a telephone call for having referred to the POTUS as a “liar” during his speech the other evening.

Good for Wilson and good for the President for taking the call and accepting the apology. After all we don’t live in England where such rambunctious behavior is actually tolerated and even encouraged. Although I for one wish we did have this system to hold all the pols accountable daily.

Then the Democrats yesterday decide to not only rebuke Wilson but they also lay out specific restrictions on language that can’t be used on the floor of the House including the infamous restriction that you can’t refer to any “sexual misconduct” on part of the President nor can you call him a “hypocrite” or “intellectually dishonest”. Too bad, President Bill Clinton didn’t have such provisions when he was office. I find it odd though that the party that says it is “for the people” want to legislate against the First Amendment. Don’t you?

It’s time Congress to get over it on both sides. The behavior was inappropriate on Wilson’s part. He apologized. POTUS accepted.

What the Dems don’t understand is their rebuke will only harden the situation more and Wilson will actually benefit in the long run. This you can take to the bank.

It’s time to move on and get back to the health care debate and other truly pressing matters such as the fraud and criminality of ACORN; however, I suspect the Congress, the administration and the POTUS would prefer not to have to deal with these real issues.

S.C. Joe Wilson Spoke the Truth; Shame on Him for His Apology

From Tranquilla II on The Back of Eddy Creek on Lake Barkley --- Congressman Joe Wilson caved in and "apologized" for shouting out that President Barrack Hussein Obama "you lie" Wednesday night when PeBO says that illegal aliens will not be covered on the government health care option.

Ed Whitfield R-KY says it was inappropriate for a fellow Republican to shout "You lie" at President Obama during his health care speech to Congress.

Whitfield said Thursday that Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst was out of character because the South Carolina lawmaker is usually "low-key."

Wilson's outburst came after Obama said in his speech Wednesday night that extending health care to all Americans who seek it would not mean insuring illegal immigrants. Wilson offered a swift apology afterward.

Whitfield told Kentucky reporters in a conference call Thursday that health care legislation in the House (House Bill 3200) does not require proof of citizenship for coverage. Seems to me that would cover illegal aliens, or as Senator Specter D-PA would like to say "undocumented" residents.

Wait a minute: Wilson says Obama lies. Yet Whitfield admits that House Bill 3200 does not require proof of citizenship for coverage. Seems to me Wilson was correct in his assessment and that Whitfield agrees but is too much of a "statesman" to admit he agrees.

Maybe Wilson's outburst was not appropriate on the floor of Congress, however, I never heard any of the Dems that called President George W. Bush names ever offer up any apology for anything they called him. Should we expect a double-standard these days? It seems we should.

One other point. Some of you may have missed this. PeBO last night says there are only 30 million uninsured people these days. Yet on July 22, 2009 he clearly stated there were 47 million. So, we must be making some progress Mr. President? In actuality there is closer to maybe 15 million people uninsured. Why not focus your time and attention Mr. President on fixing the system for these truly uninsured folks and leave the rest of us alone?

Integrity is built on behavior Mr. President.

PeBO took longer to decide on a dog than he did on laying out reform for health care. Some would say PeBO "lied" even about that simple act because he said he was going to "rescue one" from the pound but chose a purebred instead.

When you don't "walk your talk" you don't build integrity, trust or credibility.

When 53% (Rasmussen poll today) of the American people don't trust you Mr. President and your "plan" to fix health care it is time to start all over.

Frankly, Congress when you have ratings in the "teens" you can probably figure out that we don't trust you either.

Republicans and Democrats are both guilty - it is time to vote them all out and start all over! In 2010 the American voters will speak - and the "real lion" will roar!

For all of you who wish to debate this issue I recommend you read the bill - you can see it here: http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h3200/text

A Proctor & Gamble Executive Writes President Obama

Letter from Procter & Gamble Exec to President Obama

Please read, even if you are an Obama fan. It is legitimate, written by
respected, Lou Prichett, formerly of Proctor and Gamble. Lou Pritchett
is one of corporate America 's true living legends- an acclaimed author,
dynamic teacher and one of the world's highest rated speakers. Successful
corporate executives everywhere recognize him as the foremost leader in
change management. Lou changed the way

America does business by creating an audacious concept that came to be
known as "partnering. " Pritchett rose from soap salesman to
Vice-President, Sales and Customer Development for Procter and Gamble and
over the course of 36 years, made corporate history.

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of
the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy
League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible
signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth
growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't
understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself
with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly
denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America' crowd
and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style
country where the government sector dominates instead of the private
sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a
government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing
on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that
lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the
world.

You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against
certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you
on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider
opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and
omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs,
Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of
view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably
not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

Lou Pritchett

This letter was sent to the NY Times but they never acknowledged it. Big

Under Obamacare My Cancer Would Not Have Been Even Diagnosed in Time

From Tranquilla 2 on The Back of Eddy Creek on Lake Barkley ---

Rush Limbaugh is a "Big Fat Idiot," according to my progressive friends, so let's also throw in Glenn Beck, the best-selling populist author of "Common Sense"
and Mark Levin, the best-selling author of "Liberty or Tyranny" as well. That should really titillate the "snipers" and "bomb-throwers."

However, if we are going to get into calling names let's be as childish on the "conservative" side as well and add Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and let's not forget Al Franken and Michael Moore, Chuck Schummer and a few others - maybe they can be called "Big Fat Air Heads." or something equally childish.

What's my point?

When people can no longer debate with reason, logic and facts and on principles they have to resort to name calling.

Sean Hannity becomes Sean Vanity; Ed Schultz becomes Ed "Big Mouth" Schlitz.

You get the idea.

The problem is name calling doesn't get us any where in the world of ideas nor does it move us toward solutions.

Frankly my friends this current administration is wrought with lots of ideas; they have never met a crisis they couldn't take advantage of and in my opinion they are using "Chicago-style" rough house politics on us all to force programs on many of us who simply don't want their "help."

I personally prefer to debate these issues on the merits and the ideals of liberty and freedom and not on silly name calling. But then, of course, even the administration has even gone back to the old playbook of "The Vast Right-wing Conspiracy" theory as to why they can't sell these ideas to the general public. They have become desperate.

However, let us not let Congress - those political hacks - that have become more arrogant and self-serving than we can measure off lightly in this debate. The problems in our country are on both sides of the political aisle as well as in the administration.

It is self-serving and to the Congress's advantage to keep us fighting with one another over "parties" so they can reach out into our pockets and solicit their campaign funds.

It is time for a new political party and agenda. It is time for part-time legislators at the state and federal level. It is time for the farmers to come from the fields, the factory worker from the production lines, the office managers from their desks to give to public service once again.

It is simply time we threw them all out and started all over. It is time we resorted to some "common sense" - we simply can not continue down this road to perdition.

Our debt is beyond the pale, each of us now owe the government more than $44,000 and the interest is climbing daily.

Progressives are asking that we sacrifice systems that work albeit they need improvement for systems run by the government such as Medicare and the Medicaid. If there is a single person reading this that doesn't understand both of those "government" programs are broke, wrought with fraud and mis-management and shamefully run then they have not lived the past 50-years watching government screw it up. They are uneducated and choose to be.

The money being borrowed to run these programs today is on the backs of our children and grandchildren.

The health care "advocates" on both sides want government to run health care - they want to give up their "rights and freedoms of being responsible for themselves" -- they want government to make decisions on the most personal of the decisions that we as free men and women now make.

I simply won't stand for it.

Had I been in an Obama health care system I would not have gotten my cancer diagnosis in time to have saved my bladder and quite possibly my life. That is a fact. I went from the diagnosis to surgery in 4-days friends an unheard of situation under any government program - I know I used to be a fed.

Listen carefully -- leave me and my health care and my family alone. I prefer to work harder and longer if necessary to buy my own insurance.

I choose to be a free man and make my own decisions thank you very much.

No Mr. President you are not a JFK and certainly not an Abraham Lincoln that you supporters are so fond of making you out to to be like.

My philosophy is appropriately stated below Mr. President.

Or, if I can make it simpler for you - I choose "Liberty or Death - Don't Tread on Me!" - Dr. D.

For your reading pleasure ---

These words are often attributed to Abraham Lincoln, but according to the book They Never Said it: A Book of Fake Quotes, Misquotes, & Misleading Attributions, they are not from Lincoln.

The quotes were published in 1942 by William J. H. Boetcker, a Presbyterian minister. He released a pamphlet titled Lincoln On Limitations, which did include a Lincoln quote, but also added 10 statements written by Boetcker himself.

They were:

1. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
2. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong
3. You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich.
4. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
5. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man's initiative and independence.
6. You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.
7. You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
8. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.
9. You cannot establish security on borrowed money.
10 You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they will not do for themselves.

Should We All Just Go 'John Gault'?

atlas_shrugged.jpg

"Everyone has the right to make his own decision(s), but none has the right to force his decision on others." --- Ayn Rand ('The Virtue of Selfishness', Chapter 12) {WMail Issue #10}

From Tybee Island, Ga. ---
There were some big storms rolling through the low country last night and as I lay awake listening to the thunder, comforting my little buddy "Little Bit," I began to think about the fact that I started working at age 13.

Today, at age 58 approaching 59, that means that I have worked close to half a century. For 46 years of my life I have worked and paid taxes. I have tried to grow an estate, maximize my wealth and talent, continue my education and give back in a meaningful way to society not just through my taxes but also through my charity.

I am now being told by the POTUS and current Congress that I will be penalized through higher taxes that will be redistributed to those in need of health care, midnight basketball, new bridges and transit systems to nowhere, more money for the public school system and the endless array of publicly funded programs that have no accountability whatsoever.

As I lay awake listening to the night sounds of the storm I came to understand what Dr. Sigmund Freud meant by the two most important things in a man's life is "love and work."
Both of these have at times in my life alluded me in fulfillment. Man I believe is always searching for unconditional love and meaningful work.

I came away from this contemplation thinking that maybe it is time to simply go "John Gault" and let the looters on both sides of the political spectrum in Congress loot somewhere other than my pocketbook.

What do I mean?

"Who is John Gault?"

John Gault was the fictional character in Ayn Rand's classic novel Atlas Shrugged.

After many years of not reading this book yet being encouraged to do so by many friends on the conservative and libertarian side of the political fence I did so the past two months. The book is more than 500 pages yet once you get into it if you have any sense of outrage at what is going on now in our once free and capitalistic country you will become even more outraged.

What Rand wrote about in 1958 is today's world where the government has nationalized and socialized business and industry.

In the book the government has turned the country into a socialist welfare state because its "leaders" believe all wealth should be redistributed.

John Gault led the strike in this novel to shut down the "engines of the world" and invited those who were or would be the producers to join him in Gault's Gulch where they would produce only enough to sustain themselves and work for no other man's benefit.

Recently on Pajamas TV (www.pjtv.com), Dr. Helen Smith, a Knoxville, Tenn. psychologist, noted that many people are considering how to become present day "John Gaults" in other words if the administration is going to penalize us as producers for earning more by taking more in the form of taxes then how can we "John Gault" it by earning less and enjoying life more?

Seems pretty simple to me POTUS and Congress, you want to tax anyone earning above $250,000 or is it $150,000 VP Biden?

Whatever level you choose you can bet that from that point forward those of us whom you count on to produce your taxes may just decide to earn less and less, maybe even reduce our production to the level that we can also sign up for your redistribution and giveaway programs.

Yes, it has been 46-years that I have diligently worked, saved and at times maybe even sacrificed some of my life spirit to be a good, patriotic tax paying citizen. Oh, I will still pay the tax man until I die in some form or fashion, because there are even hidden taxes now that we all must pay to get along, but should I work for the other man's needs and at his whims when he is not willing to work for himself and pay his own share?

I recommend you listen to this interview with Dr. Smith at:
then decide for yourself your own future.

I look forward to meeting you Mr. Gault!

Love, peace and grace, Dr. D

America is NOT a Democracy - It Never Was!

From Tybee Island, Ga. --- It always bothers me when I hear people refer to our form of government as a democracy. It is simply not so and was never intended by our founding fathers. Freedom comes from the Republic form of government - The Rule of Law. Government must be limited for us to have our freedoms and our liberty. Enjoy this very instructional video:

Obama Beach?

From Tranquilla II on the Back of Eddy Creek on Lake Barkley --- Is the entire world so enamoured with the POTUS they get tongue-tied? PM Brown you owe every single veteran an apology immediately. My WWII veteran friends knowing he won't I will tell you I am embarrassed for our British friends and allies and I know they would all issue their personal apology given the opportunity.

Geez Stop It Already! BHO and Michelle Deserve To Be Left Alone

From Tranquilla II on the Back of Eddy Creek on Lake Barkley --- Okay, enough is enough! The POTUS and his wife should be able to go off and enjoy a date night without any politician commenting one way or another. Stop it --- all of you hatemongers and politicians. You have better things to be doing than commenting on the private date lives of the POTUS and the First Lady. Enough already!

"President Barack Obama made good on a campaign promise to his most important supporter Saturday night — his wife, Michelle. The president and first lady jetted to a date in New York late Saturday afternoon, aides and media in tow."
